In tithes and offerings...
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now in this,'' says the Lord of Hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes..." Malachi 3:8-11
This is the only place in the Bible where God grants us permission to put him to the test. I suppose God knows that our pocket books are the closest things to the hearts of many.
I heard it said that honoring the Lord with one's tithe can be the way out of poverty. Blessed is the man who believes this. Many have followed this injunction, and have found that God is true to his Word.
